Worth a listen: @Gayngs

Distinguished as a "musical super-family" on their record label Jagjaguar's website, Gayngs consists of a swarm of Minneapolis-based musicians that I honestly can't say I know a great deal about. I just know that their album is something appealing. Check out the lead track 'The Gaudy Side of Town' off Relayted which came out earlier this month.

@LocalNatives debut album Gorilla Manor out today...

Local-natives_gorilla-manor_hi

Their much anticipated, debut full-length Gorilla Manor hits U.S. shelves today.

Pitchfork gave it an 8.4 (out of 10). What does that mean? To quote Benny "The Jet" Rodriguez: "Now we can play forever." (Or at least tour for like three years.)

I saw this band three times at CMJ last year. I highly recommend this band. Get Gorilla Manor on vinyl here.

Los Campesinos replace keyboardist/vixen...

Aleks

"You look less like a Venus de Milo/ And more like your mother in a straight jacket."

Earlier this Summer, Aleks from Los Campesinos! announced she was leaving the band. Now, the band has found her replacement redheaded keyboard child in Kim, the sister of lead singer Gareth.

The band announced their new member with a faux futbol signing video on their website. I'm not going to post that cheekiness. But I am happy that LC! will retain their seven-piece make-up, and hopefully the bombast that comes with it. Here's an acoustic performance featuring some of the band, including Aleks on keys and sultry vocalization (good luck with your future endeavors, musically and otherwise)...
